What is Prolotherapy?
Prolotherapy is a Regeneration Injection Therapy, it's a targeted injection into injured or worn ligaments, tendons and cartilage which aims to restore joint stability and function.
What does it do?
Prolotherapy differs from other point injection therapies because rather than treating to break up accumulations and constrictions of muscles or fascia, this treatment is designed to regenerate connective tissue.
The injection of a dextrose based solution into weakened areas of a ligament or tendon to trigger an inflammatory healing response. This encourages the growth, or proliferation, of collagen and other substances which results in the regeneration of new tissue to strengthen the affected tendon or ligament to support the joints and muscles. The goal is better function and less pain.
It's a non-surgical treatment that has been used for decades for many degenerative conditions and unlike steroid injections will not damage cartilage.
What does it treat?
Prolotherapy treats joints and the tissues that support them, specifically:
What does it cost?
Treatments start at $120 for simple conditions but for complex issues and multiple areas of treatment, prices are adjusted accordingly.

What are my other options?
Prolotherapy is a unique treatment which provides results that are difficult to achieve with other treatments. Other therapies, including acupuncture and acupoint injections are great at relaxing muscles and treating pain but this treatment creates more structural changes.
If the tendons & ligaments are injured or weakened then prolotherapy is the fastest, least painful and most cost effective way of achieving a positive result. It might be a trick pony, but it's a great trick.
