I've been in practice since 2004 after two years of Nursing school, four years of Chinese Medicine schooling and several trips to China for internship & mentoring. Since 2008 I've organised and run programs on a voluteer basis with Island Health providing free acupuncture treatment in mental health & addiction programs in Nanaimo.
The number of people living with chronic pain is increasing but a lot of treatments and services are unavailable to many of them due to rising costs. This is why I continue with extensive training to provide more effective treatment options and try to keep these services at affordable costs. Over the past couple decades, I've studied many different ways of practicing acupuncture to not just treat pain but to improve the overall health of the body.
I currently represent Vancouver Island on the board of the BC Association of TCM & Acupuncture Practitioners and is a member of the Nanaimo Senior Services Network. In the past, I've donated services in support of the Haven Society, Nanaimo Women’s Resource Centre, Loaves & Fishes as well as for the Stz'uminus and Snuneymuxw First Nations. Health care is a service; not for large financial gains, what I like to see is the social dividends of the people in this community live healthier lives.
